Petition updateSave Tyson from being euthanized by Boston animal controlThis Is Bigger Than Tyson — A Call for Change

Let me be fully transparent — while Tyson has become the face of this movement, this is not just about him. Tyson represents every innocent animal whose life is cut short unfairly, week after week, day after day.

A change needs to happen. Too many animals are being judged, abandoned, or euthanized without fairness, compassion, or understanding. This is not an isolated issue — it’s a deep-rooted, systemic problem that stretches from housing discrimination to breed bias.

It starts with landlords who enforce strict “no-pet” or “no-breed” policies, forcing loving owners to surrender their pets simply because they can’t find a place to live. If housing were more pet-friendly, far fewer animals would ever end up in shelters, and countless lives could be saved.

Just this week, one of my supporters shared a devastating story. Her landlord refused to let her family keep their dog, and with no other options, she surrendered her to Boston Animal Control. The very next day, that dog was euthanized. No time for rehoming, no evaluation, no chance — just gone. That is the kind of quiet tragedy that happens far too often, and it’s exactly why this movement matters.

It continues with people and policies that discriminate against certain breeds, labeling them as dangerous based on appearance rather than behavior. These stereotypes create fear, divide communities, and lead to innocent animals being punished simply for how they look.

Tyson’s case shines a light on this injustice. He is not just a dog — he’s a symbol of how broken the system has become. Too many pets are losing their lives because of decisions rooted in fear, not facts.

We’re speaking up for Tyson and for every animal sitting behind shelter walls right now, waiting for compassion, fairness, and a chance to live.

If we truly want to make a difference, we must start by changing the rules, the policies, and the mindsets that make it nearly impossible for good owners to keep or rescue good dogs.

Let Tyson’s fight be the beginning of that change — not just for him, but for every life that still deserves a chance.
