Today is an incredibly sad day. After 12 cherished years of business as Turtle Beach Cafe we have gotten the heart-wrenching official notice that our landlords will not renew our lease. We have not been given a clear reason as to why, although we have our speculations. At the end of the day the decision lies in their hands. 

A dozen years brimming with memories. We hold dear our regulars—from the delightful mornings spent with the Dollar Coffee Club gentlemen, to the summer visitors who insisted they “HAD to stop by” to make their Bethany Beach vacation complete—and every soul in between. The names and faces that fill our hearts could fill volumes, and for this, we are endlessly grateful.

YOU made this journey possible. You chose to support small business owners in this small beach town, allowing us to flourish for twelve remarkable years. You stood by us during the trials of Covid. You helped us branch out from being a seasonal business to staying open year round. You helped us create jobs for countless local youths, many working their first job. YOU are the essence of this vibrant community, and the thought of leaving brings us profound sorrow. Our hearts are utterly shattered. And now we need your help.

We implore you to share this message, to let our community know that we don’t want to leave. That this isn’t because we didn’t get enough business, or anything of that nature. We are a thriving cafe, filled with passionate souls who go to great lengths to ensure every customer leaves with joy and fond memories of our beloved beach town. Please help us spread this spirit-shattering news.
