Swift action is needed in urging Attorney General Healey to block the closure of Tufts Children’s and the merger with Boston Children's Hospital. This is a critical issue for the children of Massachusetts.

Over 67,000 people have signed a petition to ask Tufts and Wellforce to reconsider this decision. As patients, parents, caregivers, and medical professionals, our primary concern is the best interest of children, and it is imperative that they have a voice.

During a pandemic, it is unconscionable that Tufts is cutting services for the most vulnerable in Massachusetts. Transferring services to another hospital dismantles treatment teams, restricts access to care, drives up costs, and denies choice for Massachusetts families. In addition to the immediate effect of losing inpatient beds, this closure will mean the eventual unraveling of all pediatric services at Tufts. Programs have already been terminated as the domino effect of the proposed bed closure is underway. This will have significant long-term effects for the children of Massachusetts.
