Trinity Medical Centre, like so many surgeries, was hit by the Covid pandemic like a tsunami.  They did their best, but they were in the middle of a big management and staff changeover.  This would not have mattered, but they were then subject to an audit by the Care Quality Commission.  They just couldn't tick all the boxes, and the CQC didn't seem to notice the pandemic.  This does not mean that they did not care about their patients, nor that they were not trying to improve.  All they asked for was time, but the CQC wouldn't give them enough.  People like 72-year-old Jane Winter, who has multiple health issues, had been with them for years.  She had been helped enormously by them.  She does not want to change doctors now, especially as she is on several hospital waiting lists.  The surgery has over 8,000 patients.  Other local surgeries do not have the capacity to help them all if TMC is closed down.  So many people, young and old, will struggle to find a new doctor. They will have to start from scratch instead of having a doctor who knows them and their medical history inside out.  Please save our medical centre.  We need them.
