The Issue

For those of us who call Treasure Island home, this playground is more than swings and slides — it’s the heart of our community. It’s where friendships begin, laughter fills the air, and our children grow together in safety and joy.
But today, that heart is hurting.

The Treasure island’s playground has fallen into disrepair:

The rubber flooring is full of holes — unsafe, dirty, and staining our kids’ clothes.
After rain, sand turns to mud, leaving much of the space unusable for days.
Toddlers under three have almost nothing to play on.
With no clear “No Dogs Allowed” signs, the play area risks contamination and health hazards.

Our children deserve better.

We call on the Recreation & Park Department and Supervisor Dorsey to take urgent action to:

Replace the broken flooring to ensure safety.
Add safe play structures for toddlers.
Repair and refresh swings, benches and other equipment.
Install clear “No Dogs Allowed” signage to protect hygiene.

Let’s give our kids back a safe, clean, and inclusive place to play — and preserve the spirit of Treasure Island for generations to come.

Sign now to restore joy, safety, and community to Treasure Island’s playground!
