Save Tillicum Middle School

Save Tillicum Middle School
The Issue
BSD plans to consolidate middle schools, and Tillicum is AT RISK!! If we do not take action now, Tillicum will NOT be here in the fall!!
I know I've only been here at Tillicum for 2 years, but everything about it is amazing. From the location, the large building structure to the dual language programs, there are so many opportunities here at Tillicum. There are so many cool clubs and activities. The staff is welcoming and makes sure that we are getting a proper education. There are so many fun events that make every day at least a little bit enjoyable, even if I'm feeling tired or stressed out from schoolwork.
If Tillicum gets consolidated, what would happen to all the dual language programs? MDL, ISA, all of those programs are only offered at Tillicum if you choose to continue the program after elementary. What would happen to the millions of dollars spent on rebuilding Tillicum? All of that just to go to waste? What would happen to all the memories made here? So many students have made so many precious memories here. So many staff members have spent so many years teaching here at Tillicum. So much of Tillicum played an impactful part of people’s teenage years. To consolidate Tillicum is to take away something that was part of and still lives inside people’s hearts.
Spread the word. We are NOT letting Tillicum get taken away just like that. The TMS community is like a big family; we stick together no matter what happens. If no staff or parent can convince BSD to not consolidate Tillicum, then it's up to the students, which is us, to voice our concerns and give Tillicum our full support.
