This petition originates from a deeply personal and distressing situation. A YouTube user named Shanika Grant is allegedly broadcasting her neglect and abuse of her ten children daily, despite having an open case with Child Protective Services (CPS). Despite numerous reports to the authorities, no action has been taken to protect these innocent lives. These children are forced to live in a trailer without basic necessities such as furniture, hot water or food. Their appearance is visibly unkempt and their health and hygiene are severely compromised.

This situation highlights a broader issue - the failure of CPS in Sumter, South Carolina to adequately protect children from unfit parents. It's an unfortunate reality that child abuse cases have been steadily increasing across the country; according to the U.S Department of Health & Human Services' 2019 report, approximately 678,000 children were found to be victims of child abuse or neglect nationwide.

We urgently call for stricter enforcement regulations on CPS in Sumter County. We demand immediate intervention for Shanika Grant's children and all other kids suffering under similar circumstances. We insist on thorough investigations into reported cases of child abuse and neglect as well as prompt actions against proven perpetrators.

Our ultimate goal is not just about saving these ten innocent lives but also about ensuring that every child within our community grows up in a safe environment free from fear, neglect or harm.
