After months of being under siege, and clashes in the last few weeks where many activists were arrested (click here to see a video of the last week, when the Israeli army used tasers against protesters), we finally received some good news: Netanyahu’s Government temporarily freezed the demolition of the village and the school of Khan al Ahmar! The international pressure is working: the Government has decided to restart the negotiations with the villagers. It’s an extraordinary result, also thanks to the incredible and pacific resistance of the local community, to a serious involvement of the international diplomacy and to the attention that citizens all around the world is keeping around this issue.
The NGO Vento di Terra (the organization that helped building the school) is thanking everybody. But I also want to really thank you all for your support! I will keep you posted on what is going to happen in the next few weeks and I will keep fighting for the rights of all the children in the world.
We’ve seen Israel changing decision on this issue other times. So, it’s important we keep up the pressure!
