This spring a two-year-old endangered red wolf was killed by a vehicle strike on North Carolina’s Highway 64. He died not far from where his father was killed just six months earlier.

We can do better for red wolves. Donate today to the Red Wolf Wildlife Crossing Fund and your gift will be matched.

Red wolves are the world's most endangered canines, with fewer than 25 left in the wild. Five red wolves have been killed by a vehicle strike in the last 11 months.

The Center for Biological Diversity and allies have launched a campaign to secure a safer future for red wolves by building a wildlife crossing in the heart of their home in North Carolina. The campaign envisions underpass structures enabling wildlife to cross US 64 and to access habitat in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge that lies on both sides of the highway.

A generous donor has already pledged to contribute a landmark $2 million match challenge for a Red Wolf Wildlife Crossing Fund — but we must raise another $2 million in committed matching funds by Aug. 31.

It's past time to protect red wolves from senseless vehicle strikes.

Please make a matched gift to the Red Wolf Wildlife Crossing Fund today.
