Please sign our petition to save the historical house in W.S. Commerdinger Park 

The house has immense historical significance; which dates back to the 1800’s was owned by the Hallock, Newton, Smith, and Blydenburgh families, as well as Captain George McCormick, who fought in the Civil War under General Custer at Gettysburg.  

Suffolk County and Suffolk County Parks Department bought the home in good faith, only to keep it boarded for 25 years. The WS Commerdinger Preservation Society has tried to maintain the home and property only to be handed unsustainable contracts. As of now, the home is boarded up and only receives maintenance in covering up graffiti and landscaping. 

We need help and support to save the house from destruction. Please sign and share, history needs to be preserved for future generations.
