The residents of Pentir, Bangor, and the wider community, have lost their pub - the Vaynol/Tafarn y Faenol.  It is not just a pub; it's a community meeting place.  The heart of the village.  And we need your help.

On Sunday 17 March over 70 people gathered in front of the pub to show their support for this great community asset. This is a tenacious community, but with the owner wanting to turn the building into holiday lets, we need to show the planners that we have the support of the wider community. 

The local ward of Arfon has nearly 900 Airbnb properties, and yet pubs have closed at an alarming rate.  In the adjoining villages of Rhiwlas, Bethel, Glasinfryn, Caerhun there is no pub. A local group 'Pentir Village Action Group' has formed to try to raise funds to buy and eventually run a community pub, so please get together behind this petition and share it with all your friends and family on your network.

Ar ddydd Sul Mawrth 17eg daeth dros 70 o bobl ynghyd o flaen y dafarn i ddangos eu cefnogaeth i’r ased cymunedol gwych hwn. Dyma gymuned ddygn, ond gyda’r perchennog eisiau troi’r adeilad yn fflatiau gwyliau, mae angen inni ddangos i’r cynllunwyr bod gennym gefnogaeth gan y gymuned ehangach. 

Mae gan ward leol Arfon bron i 900 o eiddo Airbnb, ac eto mae tafarndai wedi cau ar gyfradd frawychus. Nid oes tafarn mewn pentrefi cyfagos – Rhiwlas, Bethel, Glasinfryn a Chaerhun. Ffurfiwyd grwp lleol ‘Grwp Gweithgarwch Pentref Pentir’ i geisio codi arian i brynu ac, yn y pen draw, i redeg tafarn gymunedol, felly dewch at eich gilydd drwy’r ddeiseb hon a’i rhannu ymhlith teulu a chyfeillion ar eich rhwydwaith.
