Over 1,000 people have already signed the petition to save Vanbrugh Park Estate’s front gardens in Greenwich. They include the director of the Garden Museum, the president of the Twentieth Century Society, the daughter of the architect who originally designed the estate, fire safety experts and many local residents. 

News that the council wants to demolish the estate's much-loved front gardens after 60 years of successfully making the estate more safe, attractive and biodiverse has shocked journalists as well as residents. Here is Darryl Chamberlain's report in the outstanding local news site www.853.london.
