Dear USC Community and Neighbors of Los Angeles,

The USC Peace Garden needs your help!

This past week, we received devastating news that has come as a shock to all of us. The land where the USC Peace Garden sits is scheduled to be sold. We have until June 30th, 2025, and over the next 30 days, we will be working tirelessly to save the Peace Garden right where it is.

For many of us, the USC Peace Garden is a lifeline. It is a place to slow down, connect with nature, and build friendships. It is where we have shared meals and stories, watched the seasons change, welcomed curious cats, and found peace amid a busy campus and city.

For the past three years, the Peace Garden has stood at the intersection of campus and community. It has been a bridge connecting students to neighbors, urban life to natural cycles, and individual action to collective good. Right now, it reminds us that we have the power to protect what we have grown together.

None of this would have been possible without you. This garden is what it is because of the community that has shown up for it.

Now, we are asking you to show up again.

We are calling on students, alumni, neighbors, faculty, and friends to stand with us. If the Peace Garden has ever offered you a moment of peace, a fresh ingredient, a place to learn or belong, we ask you to support us.

This place was never just ours. It has always belonged to everyone who has stepped through the gate.
