For years,  the Upper Frederick Church School stood as a symbol of education, community, and opportunity.

Generations of local children walked through its doors, learning to read, write, and build the foundations of their lives in this one-room schoolhouse. It remained an active school until 1950, serving the families of Upper Frederick Township and becoming part of the early history of the Boyertown School District.

Today, this historic landmark faces demolition.

If it is destroyed, an irreplaceable part of our community’s story will disappear forever.

The good news is there is still hope.

Upper Frederick Township previously received a $100,000 Pennsylvania State preservation grant intended to restore this historic building. Professional architectural renderings have been completed, and a structural analysis has shown that the building can be preserved. Restoration is not just possible—it is achievable with community support and thoughtful planning.

Historic buildings like the Upper Frederick Church School cannot be recreated once they are gone. They connect us to the people who came before us and give future generations a chance to experience history where it actually happened.
