Save The Trees

Save The Trees
The Issue
Please help to save the trees and hedges in Barkers Lane, March.
Due to a recent FDC planning decision the trees and hedges along Barkers Lane adjacent to the Neale Wade boundary are going to be lost due to the construction of a footpath along the lane to the proposed new develpment in the old orchard. A few of the trees have TPOs on them and removing them will change the whole look of the area surrounding the pond and landscape opposite St Wendredas Church.
This is totally unnecessary, the site could easily be accessed without using Barkers Lane, using the same access as the Barratt/David Wilson Homes which are to be constructed further down the lane. They are using Lambs Hill Drove, further away from the school and this dangerous junction as access.
The planning officer seems to have ignored all of the comments made of how dangerous and busy this junction is at peak times, getting out of here is near impossible if you want to turn right at busy times, and how important these trees are to residents and other locals and make this part of town the picturesque area that it is.
The planning permission is only outline at the moment with matters, including the access yet to be resolved. Please sign the petition to keep this part of the town, steeped in history, just as it is.
