We would be so grateful if everyone could share our petition and participate in some way at the City Council meeting tonight, February 21st @ 7pm at Beverly Hills City Hall.

We need your support to convince City Council a serious injustice has been made by killing the trees without the proper environmental research, proposed alternatives, proper notice to business owners and residents or involvement by the community.

We are requesting the City halt the cutting of the trees to review the project as there is NO emergency that would require the City to radically clear cut over 87 trees in two weeks.  Additionally, since the City failed to do an Environmental Impact Report we are requesting a Community Advisory Panel be established to present alternative options.  

Your support will help us stop the unnecessary killing of these beautiful, healthy and significant trees that bring incredible life to our community, from clean air benefits to the survival of all of the birds, bees and other species that fuel and maintain our ecosystem.  Not to mention, the obvious shade canopy that reduces the heat, sound and glare of the city.  I’m confident the City can find a way to coexist with the mature Ficus Trees that are so valuable to our community.

HOW PARTICIPATE AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT, FEBRUARY 21st at 7pm.  The Trees are on the Agenda under Item “C” , which is when we will be able to comment.

EMAIL:  cityclerk@beverlyhills.org before noon on Tuesday.  Subject line - "Public Comment - City Manager's report”.  Begin the email with "Please read at Tuesday 7 PM City Council meeting”.  Please limit your email remarks to three (3:00) minutes in length (350 words) that can be read.

IN PERSON:  Beverly Hills City Hall, Council Chamber, 455 North Rexford Dr. Beverly Hills 90210.  Arrive by 7:00 PM and submit a speaker card to the Clerk to request to comment/speak.   The more people we have in person the greater our chances are they will vote to halt the trees to review the project.
