We are fighting to Save YOUR Thameside, YOUR Arts and Culture Hub at the heart of our community.  It contains our Theatre, Library and Museum, it’s a safe place where everyone is welcome. 

Thurrock Council want to close and sell off the Thameside Complex, they say its ‘Unfit for purpose’ and ‘surplus to requirements’ the people of Thurrock say this isn’t true.  It has been massively underfunded by Thurrock Council over the last ten years.

Don’t let Thurrock Council sell everything the people of Thurrock have worked hard for.  Selling the Thameside is a short-term fix and will cause long term problems within our community. 

Thurrock International Celebration of Culture (a charitable company) and Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions (a Community Interest Company) have joined together and with the encouragement of the council have put together a fantastic Business Plan for a Community Asset Transfer.  This plan in partnership with the council will save them over £1.5 million over the next 5 years.  It will be run by the community for the community and will be held in trust for future generations. 

The Thameside Complex is more than bricks and mortar, it’s a safe place where everyone is welcome from every part of our community.

3. Join our peaceful protest on the Weds 1st March at 6pm outside the Council Offices in Grays. Inside a full council meeting will be taking place and all 49 councillors will be present.   Bring your torches and let’s shine a light on this important decision.  
 
4. Follow our Facebook Page Save YOUR Thameside, to show your support and stay up to date with our campaign. 

5. Share, share and share again all of these ways to get involved with your local friends and family and ask them to join our campaign and protest and let your voice be heard.

It’s the Thameside Complex under threat today, and everything else that’s important to the residents of Thurrock tomorrow, join our protest and say NO to closing all that belongs to the people!
