Position:

The undersigned residents of Houston (as well as others who use the trail system for recreation) are opposed to plans for the storm water detention basin work proposed by Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) and City of Houston Public Works and Engineering (PWE) north of the Lakeside Improvement Association, Walnut Bend Home Owners Association, Heathlake Homeowners Association and Ashford Community Association neighborhoods on the southern banks of Buffalo Bayou. The undersigned residents join in this opposition.

Alternative Proposal:

The undersigned residents are opposed to the destruction of Ashford Forest, Heathlake Forest and Lakeside Forest and request HCFCD and PWE pursue more reasonable alternatives for storm water detention including the proposed Clodine Ditch Basin and Deerwood Basins.

Request:

The undersigned residents ask that the Ashford, Heathlake and Lakeside Forest Detention Basins be removed from HCFCD’s vision plan and not be considered by PWE in any current or future detention basin planning.
