Thanks to you all for signing our petition.
The felling of the tree two weeks ago has made those of us who loved it very sad: it is now just a memory and you can walk where it once stood now it's been neatly tarmac-ed over.
Many, many questions remain over the decision-making on this.
Fortunately, local councillors have been super-helpful and our group of residents has worked particularly with Cllr Chris Best to submit some questions to Lewisham Council. We'll get written answers and will then figure out some next steps about our future actions.
Are you local to our tree? If so, you might like to get tickets to this event, created by the Albany Theatre and celebrating all things tree-planting. It'll take place in Mayow Park, Thursday 10th Nov; tickets are required but are free.
And if you're not local but still passionate about trees, please do find out more about the work of the Woodland Trust that campaigns for trees both urban and rural.
Please do keep sharing and signing this petition to show support not just for this tree but for all urban trees.
Thanks again and we'll keep you posted.
