UNCG’s chancellor is considering eliminating the Religious Studies department. The final decision will be made on Feb 1st. The undersigned urge the UNCG administration to preserve religion courses at UNCG in recognition of the enormous value these courses have for both UNCG students and the broader community. Religion plays an enormous role in both our local and global culture. If UNCG is to prepare students to live and work in this world, it must provide the opportunity to study religion.

In addition to signing and sharing this petition, now is the time to reach out to UNCG administration personally to urge the preservation of religion courses, emphasize the incalculable value of the study of religion, and to share the particular impact that Religious Studies faculty and their courses have had upon you.
