The Issue

Rescue and relocate the stranded goose family from the rooftop of Pier 57 in Manhattan to a safe natural environment, provide emergency care, and investigate the deaths of four goslings.

A mother goose and her four goslings are currently trapped on the rooftop of Pier 57 in New York City. They have no access to clean water or natural food and are surviving by drinking from dirty puddles. The father goose, who is separated in the river below, is visibly distraught and unable to reach them.

Even more disturbing — four of the original goslings were killed under what appear to be violent circumstances, with their necks slit. This is not only cruel but suggests a dangerous situation for other animals.

These animals are sentient beings who deserve protection. Without immediate intervention, the surviving goslings are at risk of dying from starvation, heat, and dehydration.

We are calling on:

Mayor Eric Adams
NYC Parks / WildlifeNYC
Hudson River Park Trust
Wild Bird Fund
...to urgently rescue the remaining goose family, relocate them to safety, and investigate the cause of the earlier deaths.

New Yorkers care deeply about the lives of animals in our city. Please take a moment to sign and share this petition. Let’s make sure our city shows compassion and action.
