The issue

The Australian Snowy Mountain Brumbies are under threat of Extinction.

The recent decision by NSW Environment Minister Penny Sharpe, to include Aerial Shooting into the Wild Horse Management Plan, has been  announced. This means every single remaining Brumby in Kosciuszko NP which is well under the 3000 allowed, and many experts saying well under 1000 Brumbies remain at present, will be peppered with bullets from helicopters. Minister Sharpe has taken the Brumby debate back into the dark ages of animal cruelty.

This is what it means for those Brumbies who have been living peacefully in the Snowy Mountains for almost two centuries, long before the area was declared a National Park.

It will mean Brumbies will suffer from non lethal shots to their backs and necks, they will lay dying for hours or even days, pregnant mares will abort their unborn foals, due to the terrible stress, foals will be left orphaned and to starve to death making them defenseless against the attacks of wild dogs and foxes, others who may be fortunate to escape the bullets, will most likely suffer serious injuries such as broken legs and eye injuries from running frantically into the safety of the trees, fleeing from the helicopters above.

Please join with me in saying NO Aerial Shooting of the Brumbies in the Snowy Mountains, Kosciuszko National Park.

Minister Sharpe refuses to do a recount as numbers are incorrect and the current count methodology has been proven to calculate false and inflated numbers.

We must now stand against this barbaric cull and Stop this insane announcement from ever being used against the Snowy Mountain Brumbies.

Save the Snowy Mountain Brumbies from extinction.                                 Please lend your support today.
