Save the sea wolves, stop trophy hunting in B.C.
The Issue
Hey everyone you guys probably never heard of us and that is because we are a new group focused on the rare wolf species called sea wolves. After the death of Takaya we realized that the world needs to protect these animals.
Currently it isn’t illegal to trophy hunt these wolves in Vancouver. But we hope to change that. We are mainly focused on rescuing these beautiful wolves.
Currently we are just a group who is raising awareness but we hope to create a sanctuary for these wolves to live in safely someday. If no one else is going to fight for these wolves then we will. They can’t stand up for themselves unlike we can. They need a voice to show the world that they have a purpose here other than being killed and skinned.
On March 14th, 2010, a lone wolf named Takaya was spotted near Shirley, Canada. No one knows how he got alone but he would be spotted wondering around. Unlike other wolves he was used to humans being around staying long enough for people to take pictures. Skip ahead to March 24th, 2020, a hunter was out looking for his friends dog who went missing and stumbled upon Takaya and shot him dead. The hunter later decided to skin the wolf and keep its hide and skull. The fact that he did that sickens me.
We created this group not just to tell the story of Takaya but also to inspire people to stand up and protect these wolves from trophy hunters.
This is our story and our legacy
Sea wolves, also called coastal wolves, are a rare breed of Gray Wolves. They have a unique trait that is only known to them. That is because they live on the coastlines. They can swim and hunt prey like fish. They are also only native to the Vancouver islands.
These wolves are beautiful and deserve more than to just be killed and skinned. Currently there is no law against doing that. But we hope to change that.
These beautiful animals are on the brink of extinction. We need your help to save these beautiful animals so our next generations can enjoy the beauty of these wolves. They can’t speak for themselves so lets do it for them.
We thank you for your attention and we hope you all can support our cause and save these beautiful wolves.
In the past few years over 1,500 sea wolves were hunted as trophies. This petition is to go against trophy hunting and protecting these wolves.
Long Live Takaya and may his spirit guide us all.
