Developer Graham Trask has proposed a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru coffee shop on Sea Island Parkway. Directly across from the entrance to Grayco and Bill’s Liquors, it’s located right where two westbound lanes narrow to one, and where eastbound lanes open for a left-turn only on to Sams Point Road.

• The expected 800 daily vehicle movements in and out of the site will create much greater congestion, and a chokepoint at the entrance.
• This section of the Sea Island Parkway experiences an auto accident every three days on average. New vehicle movements and congestion will make it worse, endangering pubic health & safety
• In 2018, voters approved in a referendum an additional one cent on the local sales tax to fund $30,000,000 of traffic improvements on Ladys Island. They’re coming. But adding a drive-thru at this already-congested stretch of the Parkway takes us backward. And it’s a waste of tax dollars.
• Beaufort County's Comprehensive Plan focuses on making Ladys Island more pedestrian-friendly. Approving a drive-thru does just the opposite.
