Hello everyone, hopefully you are finding this update well! I want to inform you all of how the petition and the issue at hand is doing, because we have had some amazing events happen as of recently. Before that, I once again just want to give a big thank you for signing this petition and sharing it with your friends and family. The growth of this petition means so much to me and my family! Let's keep the Sands Blvd Bridge Safe!

Let's get into what has happened since yesterday! What happened was that WINK News, the local region's news station, picked up on the tip I submitted regarding the Sands Blvd Bridge! This then resulted in them calling me and asking for interviews and bringing local news attention to this issue. Along with that, they have interviewed several community members, bringing their voices to the forefront of the issue and ensuring that people across the Cape are hearing their sides of this story. News attention is incredibly important for any movement, but especially local ones and the fact we got it this fast after starting the petition only a few days ago is something that we can take pride in!

Our community members have been putting in the work also. Giving those interviews, sharing petitions with family and friends and making sure that our petition gets that city wide attention, that is why we are doing so well. If we can get to 200 petition signatures, we will become a force the City Council must listen to! So please, continue to grow the petition by sharing it in as many areas as you can, and make sure you give your account to as many news organizations and neighbors as you can.

And always, make sure to show up to the May 21st, 5:00 PM meeting at the City Council Chambers and make your voices known. If we can do that, we create a bloc of people the City must look at and stand with!

An edit to this: New Information has been received in which the City will not be voting on this matter on May 21st at 5:00 PM. They will instead be having an agenda discussion on the 28th at 9:00 AM where it could become a voting matter, however as of right now it remains a non-voting informational item!
