Save the Sands Blvd Bridge! For All Cape Coral Residents!

The Issue

The people of Cape Coral rely on the Sands Blvd Bridge for a number of reasons. For starters, this is one of two access points for neighborhoods in this region to access not only the greater city area, but also key evacuation routes. If this is destroyed, then El Dorado becomes the main and only area, which it is well known to flood during times of medium to heavy downpour. If we do nothing to save this bridge, countless families will be impacted through longer commute times, the possibility of extended emergency response times and so much more!

If we save this bridge the people of Cape Coral will be safer, the local residents will be happier and people will enjoy easier access to the greater city area. If we remove the bridge however, not only will this increase the impact on the local area, it will also increase the cost to the City in the terms of surveys and many other things required to ensure a bridge is safe to remove!

With all of this at stake, and the fact that this decision is coming soon we must act now. Email your local Council members, make sure your voice is heard and spread this petition far and wide. The Council will be meeting on May 21st at 5:00 PM at a General Council where you can speak unagendaed on this issue, and they are also going to speak at a Committee of the Whole Meeting at 9:00 AM on May 28th, where they have the possability to decide the matter after hearing input from Citizens. Defend your local citizens and keep Cape Coral as great as it can possibly be by defending the Sands Blvd Bridge!
