Update 3rd October 2023
As we move on with the 'Petition', the BBC News reporting, prompted a response by 'National Resources Wales'. Whilst they said that no one available to make an appearance on the news report, i wondered if there was a possibly that they disappeared into cupboards and the like to hide?, they did release a statement though. The full statement together with an additional release of information found on their website, detailed that the said 'Action Plan' would not be ready for implementation until 2025. The full details are on the update dated 28th September, as is the valid points within the 'Petition' detailing reasons for their failures. The item is too large for the 'Facebook' update and one has to log on to the actual 'Petition', to reach the full picture of the situation.
If you have already 'Voted' then, the update should have reached you via your e-mail contact from Change.Org. If not please log in to the Petition and ('Vote' and Share). When you do Change.org will e-mail you a link to register your vote, then scan through until you reach the dated update 28th September, under the picture of the 22 Goosanders together, taken by myself on a pool in the Upper Welsh Dee, and 'click' on the writing underneath to open the full report. It is for sure, indeed very sad reading!!
This weeks update picture is a group of 11 Goosanders taken by a supporter on the river in Betws-y-Coed a couple of weeks ago. Considering that between now and 2025 this group alone, if all hens which they appear to be by the coloration, will account for 220 fish daily, on an average of 20 each. By the end of 2024 according to the daily calculation they will have accounted for at the least a total of 102,300 fish, in addition to breeding on average 12 chicks each, to reach a total of 132 more of them to predate on the diminishing stocks., working out at approximately 2,640 fish daily, 963,600 by 2025! This is one group in a small area, consider the situation throughout Wales ? and worse still UK wide?, and these figures do not include the predation by 'Cormorants'.
Do you want to allow 'National Resources Wales' or 'Nature England' or 'Nature Scotland' Northern Ireland Government Agency, to continue with their stance to totally eradicate fish stocks. If you do, ignore the plea to 'Vote' , apathy will allow it to happen, I can not stress upon you enough to Vote and Share the 'Petition'
Thank you for your support.
