Save the Rose Center Theater in Westminster, CA

Save the Rose Center Theater in Westminster, CA
The Issue
As a resident of Westminster for almost two decades, I have had the pleasure of attending countless performances at the Rose Center Theater. This venue has not only enriched my life but has also become a cornerstone of our community, fostering a vibrant cultural environment that is indispensable to us all.
Recently, the Westminster City Council voted 3–2 to shut down this essential community asset. This decision was made despite an independent study which recommended that the Rose Center Theater remain under its current nonprofit operator. Over the past 20 years, the Rose Center Theater has served as the city’s only performing arts center, providing a platform for local talent, supporting our youth, and hosting events that bring in revenue and serve thousands of families.
Shutting down the Rose Center Theater would be a blow not only to the arts but to the entire Westminster community. It is more than just a performance space, it is a place where memories are created, where artists are born, and where our community gathers to share in the cultural richness it provides.
The financial and cultural impact of the Rose Center Theater is undeniable. It nurtures creativity, offers educational opportunities for young people, and contributes significantly to the local economy. By keeping the theater open, we support the arts, invest in our community’s future, and maintain a space where diverse stories are told and celebrated.
We urge the Westminster City Council to reconsider their decision and preserve this vital cultural asset. Let us not lose such an integral part of our community. By maintaining the Rose Center Theater, we safeguard a cultural heritage that benefits everyone.
Please join me in this urgent appeal to save the Rose Center Theater. Sign this petition to show your support and to help secure the future of our community's cultural landscape.
