We noticed that on Cornwall Live website today a report came out from Cornwall Council saying that people should be wary about facebook 'quarter truths'! That's completely right...but we're the ones that know what the residential provision looks like because its our children that go there not Cornwalls Councillors!

One councillor claimed that boarding numbers were down to 10! This is a councillor who has never met our children or stepped foot in Pencalenick School

Another said boarding is 'not essential for children's development'. What could be more essential than learning life skills, learning to sleep away from home or important daily living skills like budgeting, going on the bus to the shops and then preparing your meal that evening?

The fact is, we have 28 children boarding at pencalenick, with more sign ups and others waiting. This is such an important provision that teaches our children invaluable life skills and prepares them for adulthood.  Yes, it is expensive we understand that. But it is much less expensive than The councils donation to the failed rocket launch last year, it is half the price of Truro City's flowers this year, and a fraction of the cost that Cornwall Council gave to Thurrock Council (20 million) in the blink of an eye, who then went bankrupt anyway!

This is about who we choose to prioritise and what the benefit is. The council will say the money can be used on day places but where? in our already well over limit special schools?

Keep sharing, signing and fighting for our children and thank you so much for all your support !
