Save The Renaissance Center

Save The Renaissance Center
The Issue
On January 15th, 2025 the Wheelwright City Commission voted to end out access to any public buildings and spaces, effectively shutting down the Renaissance Center.
For nearly two decades now the Wheelwright Renaissance Center, formerly known as the Wheelwright Community Library, has sought to educate and uplift all members of it's local community. This center has provided education in the form of a library comprised of almost 10,000 books, free internet access, and tutoring programs to all who needed them in this small Kentucky community. Along with education programs the center provided a certified safe area for youth and many more in the area to participate in clubs, game nights, and even video games tournaments, nearly all free of charge. Recently the center has also been providing food giveaways monthly to those in need, peer counseling to recovering addicts, and hosted several AA and NA meetings where any and all who wanted a new outlook on life could come to an area free of judgment and begin healing.
We hope through this petition that local leaders will see the support for our mission and be willing to reconsider the vote to remove us from our current building.
Please sign this petition if you believe in our mission of simply wishing to help the community, preserve local history, and sustaining positive changes.
As well, please leave a small message if you or any of your friends and family have positive memories or have been impacted positively through any of our programs.
