Save the Post Office Services in Tesco Express, Ashton upon Mersey Village
The Issue
As a supporter of local care homes servicing adults with disabilities and mental health issues, I've witnessed firsthand the importance and role the Post Office within Tesco Express in Ashton upon Mersey village holds within our community. It serves as a lifeline for the locals, shop owners, the elderly, and those with disabilities who face difficulties getting into Sale’s town centre.
This Post Office is more than just a place to mail letters—it provides crucial access to banking services that many in our community rely on. Especially now, in the age of digital banking, 8% of adults still do not have a bank account, and rely on services like these for their financial needs according to a report from the Financial Inclusion Commission.
The proposed removal or downgrade of the Post Office services could impact these people the most—those who lack the resources or ability, through age, infirmity, or disability, to adapt swiftly to a Post Office-less world.
We encourage Tesco to reconsider this regrettable decision of removing or downgrading the Post Office services. Our appeal is for the benefit of the whole community and their access to essential services. Let's uphold the value our Post Office provides, hailing it as a beacon of inclusive progress, one where nobody is left behind.
We sincerely request everyone to support this cause, stand shoulder to shoulder with us and sign our petition to protect our local Post Office services.
