The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), the RCMP, and all levels of government to immediately stop the planned destruction of the ostriches in Edgewood, BC.

These ostriches have been healthy for over 260 days with no signs of avian flu, yet they are being targeted for depopulation without transparent independent testing. Drone harassment has already injured at least one ostrich, and now vital veterinary care and electrolytes are being denied.

This is inhumane, unjust, and unnecessary. Instead of killing healthy animals, we demand:

Independent veterinary testing of the flock before any depopulation orders are enforced.
Immediate access to food, water, and medical treatment for injured or suffering ostriches.
A stop to the use of drones that terrify and injure the birds.
Transparency and accountability from CFIA, RCMP, and government officials involved in this case.

The people of Canada  and people worldwide — are watching. We stand for compassion, science, and justice. These innocent animals deserve better.

👉 Please sign and share this petition widely to let decision-makers know: We will not accept cruelty disguised as policy.
