The Issue

The Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market is more than just a Saturday tradition — it's a vital part of our community, a gathering space for local families, farmers, artisans, and small businesses. Located in the heart of Old Town, the market represents the charm, culture, and identity that make Scottsdale unique.

Now, this treasured space is under threat.

The City of Scottsdale has approved plans to construct a three-story parking garage on the very site where the farmers market currently operates. If this development moves forward as planned, it will displace dozens of small vendors, disrupt weekly foot traffic, and risk losing one of the most cherished community events in the Valley.

We understand the need for infrastructure, but it should not come at the cost of local tradition, small businesses, and community gathering spaces. A parking garage can go anywhere. The Farmers Market can’t.

We are calling on the City of Scottsdale and all decision-makers involved to:

Halt development of the parking garage in its current form
Protect the existing farmers market space
Engage with community members and vendors to find a solution that supports growth without sacrificing our cultural fabric
Whether you're a longtime Scottsdale resident, a loyal market vendor, or a weekend visitor who loves the local produce, fresh food, and community feel — your voice matters.

Please sign this petition to show your support for keeping the Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market right where it belongs.
