Dublin City Council have approved planning permissions for an extension on the Holiday In Express on O'Connell Street, which would mean the permanent closure of the famous beer garden that connects Murrays Pub, Fibber Magee's, and The Living Room.

The expansive beer garden has been a prominent cultural centre in Dublin for years now, a unique intersection of a rock bar, a sports bar, and a traditional pub. Demolishing the space would be another fatal blow to Dublins dwindling cultural spaces.
