I write to you today with great pleasure, as we can now safely announce victory! While T-Squared Social will still be renovating the cinema, after a very productive meeting on Monday, we believe that their business plans align with our desire to make the cinema a thriving establishment and a pillar of the St Andrews community. After an incredible 12,000 signatures and a successful campaign, they've listened to all our concerns, so we have arrived at a position where we are comfortable to work closely together with them for the good of the cinema. 

The video here highlights revised proposals for the New Picture House cinema in St Andrews. In response to community feedback, two out of three screens, including the main auditorium, are to be retained as part of T-Squared Social’s proposals for the cinema, which will maintain the same New Picture House name. We hope you are as delighted as we are about this new situation we find ourselves in. We've understood from the beginning the harsh realities of running a cinema and sympathise with David Morris's difficult situation, so we believe that it is important to approach the issue pragmatically and work together so everyone can benefit. Our objective with this petition has always been to save the cinema, so through your support, our campaign has been a vocal enough force to ensure that the cinema remains the focus of their plans moving forward. 

However, if you continue to have any concerns about the current plans, please do write to us either on here or by messaging the St Andrews Film Society on Facebook and Instagram. We intend to keep this platform open for you to voice your opinion on whether you believe the NPH is delivering the service you want, so we can address the cinema with the real opinions of their customers and make sure the issue is resolved.
