Dear saviours of the NPH cinema,

Our continued intention behind this petition has been to unify everyone in St Andrews with all those who value art and culture above the comforts of celebrities. I believe it was an important first step to making our voices heard, as Nexus Luxury Collection were likely expecting the news to be received much better than it clearly was. Now we need your help!

Our next step is to take real action. With the amount of signers we've gained for the petition, we're looking to mobilise everyone to stand in solidarity with the cinema on one specific day. For Sunday 11th February, we aim to pack the cinema and get every screening sold out, submitting video evidence of the quantity of people supporting the cinema alongside interviews with all of you about what you think of the closure/transformation. The evidence we collect will be sent to MP Wendy Chamberlain for her meeting on February 15th with Nexus Luxury Collection, and the local councillors for their meeting on February 28th where they will discuss approving the development plans. We believe this single act will be sufficient for demonstrating to all parties involved the depth of local sentiment.

Our cause from the start has not been to fight against what the cinema owner wants, but precisely to prevent the cinema from collapsing. So please, bring your friends along; we want this day to be fun for everyone, watching films to keep the cinema alive. With your presence and a cinema ticket next Sunday, we can definitively prove what the people of St Andrews desire. If we all come together, we can save our cinema!
