Dear Supporters,
I wanted to update you on our campaign against the proposed Swadlincote Incinerator/Resource Recovery Park. It's been a busy and stressful time as we've explored how best to represent our community at the upcoming planning appeal. The quotes we received for legal representation and experts to speak at the inquiry ran to £45,000-75,000!
However, there is something powerful we can still do.
The Planning Inspectorate is required to consider all written representations from interested parties - and as residents and visitors to the area, who would be impacted by this development, your voice matters tremendously.
The deadline for submitting representations is January 10th, 2025. I've tried to make the process straightforward by providing ready-to-download objections that you can simply attach to your appeal representation. There are step-by-step instructions on how to do this on our website at: https://traceywond.wixstudio.com/incineratesd/appeal
Please take a few minutes to make your representation. Every submission strengthens our case and demonstrates the depth of community concern about this inappropriate development. Lots of people said we wouldn't get this far but we have... this is our last fight.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Tracey and the Community Against the Swadlincote Incinerator team.
P.S. The deadline of January 10th is firm - please don't delay in submitting your representation.
