In early March, before COVID-19 was an issue, 1,500 guest left South America (where there was NO COVID) on a cruise on the MS Zaandam.

This was BEFORE anyone called this a pandemic.  

This was BEFORE the governments told us how dangerous COVID is.

There were no concerns about starting this voyage, even travel agents went on this cruise  It was reasonable at the time to go on a cruise.  It has since become a nightmare.

On March 14, Chile closed its borders just hours after the Zaandam left port.  The ship immediately returned to port, but was refused dockage.

No one has left the ship since March 14.

Sadly, a number of people are ill, and four (as of March 28) have died.  However, most (1,500+) are healthy without any symptoms.  

Thankfully, the MS Rotterdam and its crew came and offered assistance.  Some of the passengers were transferred to the MS Rotterdam. 

Since March 22, none of the passengers have left their quarters.

We need to get these innocent people home!
