Save the Marysville Hotel: Demand the City Council to Comply with Court Orders and Address

The Issue

We, the undersigned members of the Marysville community, are deeply concerned about the City of Marysville’s failure to comply with the legal orders regarding the restoration and safety of the Marysville Hotel.
In a recent ruling, Yuba County Judge Stephen Berrier mandated that the city clean up and abate the site and structurally reinforce the top part of this iconic building. Despite this clear directive, the City has not taken the necessary steps to address these issues, putting the future of the Marysville Hotel at risk.

Marysville residents are growing increasingly alarmed by the unsafe conditions at the Marysville Hotel and are calling on the City Council to act promptly. Community members are concerned about the risks of falling debris and other hazards that threaten public safety. They urge the city to comply with the judge’s directive to clean up the building, secure the area, and address these pressing safety concerns to protect residents and prevent potential accidents.

We demand that the Marysville City Council:
- Compliance with Court Orders: Immediate clean-up and abatement of the Marysville Hotel site, including necessary structural reinforcement, as mandated by Judge Berrier’s orders.
- Debris Management: Urgent removal and proper disposal of fallen debris from the damaged structure to prevent potential injuries and ensure public safety.
- Addressing Unsafe Conditions: Securing the area to prevent unauthorized access around the location of the Marysville Hotel.
- Working with the Community: Engage with local stakeholders and community members to develop a plan that honors the building while meeting the needs of the Marysville community.

Please sign and share this petition to show your support for the community, restoration of downtown Marysville and to demand that the City Council take immediate action!

Additional Ways You Can Help:
- Attend City Council Meetings: Show your support during the bi-weekly Marysville City Council meetings.
- Contact Local Representatives: Urge them to prioritize action around the location of the Marysville Hotel and protect the city’s local community members.

Thank you for your continued support for the Marysville community!
