The County canceled the meeting with the Biscayne Nature Center on Friday, October 17th. We are concerned about what the Mayor and County are planning! The Mayor’s budget says they are taking over the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in order to capture program fees and somehow turn that into $1,000,000 profit! 

This is what we do know. The Mayor’s budget also gutted DERM, and environmental protections for Miami in what appears to be a gift to developers. During the County budget process, a private family foundation gave a $1,000,000 but we don’t know for what? That organization is connected to land owners who wanted a County project earlier this year.
