Thank YOU for caring about the mission of Marjory's Biscayne Nature Center. Because of you, we are almost to 3,000 supporters!

Tomorrow is a big day. On Thursday, September 18th, the M-DC Commission votes on the Mayor's FY 2025-2026 budget. On page 233 of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces proposed budget, under the "Fee Adjustments" section, it states "Retain program revenues at the Crandon Nature Center." This is why the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center, Inc. received the County's eviction letter.

While we don't know if the County believes it can make the $1,000,000 profit from ecoadventures or a charter school or Zoo Miami or something else, let's not wait to find out what they have planned.

Please ask the Mayor to do the right thing and ask your commissioner not to approve the Crandon Park fee adjustment in the PROS FY 2025-2026 budget.

As Marjory would say, "Be a nuisance where it counts...be depressed, discouraged, and disappointed at failure...but never give up"; and we may get to keep the Biscayne Nature Center with Marjory's name. Do it for all of the students and families that don't live by Biscayne Bay but get to learn by it!
