If humans continue at this rate, all Madame Berthe's Mouse Lemurs will become extinct. The main cause of their extinction is deforestation and habitat degradation because of slash and burn agriculture. According to the IUCN Red List, there are only approximately 8000 lemurs left in the world. If we don’t act soon then it will eventually be too late.
