Save the Long-Finned Pilot Whales!

The sea is stained red, but it is not some natural phenomenon.

These people kill hundreds of these beautiful and intelligent creatures, the long-finned pilot whales, for fun.

Wikipedia says: "Around 950 Long-finned Pilot Whales (Globicephala melaena) are killed annually, mainly during the summer. The hunts, called "grindadráp" in Faroese, are non-commercial and are organized on a community level; anyone can participate. The hunters first surround the pilot whales with a wide semicircle of boats. The boats then drive the pilot whales slowly into a bay or to the bottom of a fjord."

All of this happens year after year in Faroe Island in Denmark. this is a regular celebration that hardly anyone misses. Everyone participates one way or another, by killing or by watching this cruelty. They are supporters by just being spectators.

It should be mentioned that the long-finned pilot whatles, like most types of dolphins and whales, get close to humans only to interact and play, a gesture of amity.

This is how the humans play: We all end up misusing and wasting things violently or destructively.

They don't die instantly, they are pierced again and again by large, sharp hooks. In those moments, the whales produce noises that sound so similar to a crying human baby.

But it suffers and there is no compassion until this docile creature bleeds dry and dies in its own blood.

It has been enough! It has been long past due since this cruelty has needed to be stopped.

Please, help these kind and innocent creatures from dying out and put a stop to this brutality by signing this petition!

Letter to
Maris
I'm writing to ask for help into the halt of this animal cruelty in Denmark. I don't know where else to turn or who to go to for this kind of situation.

All of the information is in the petition.

I am just a girl who lives in Texas and I received an email about the cruelty going on just today and I have been a member of Change.org for a while now and I picked it as the best place to help spread the word.

If there is anything, anything at all, that you could tell me as to do and who else to contact so that this may actually be stopped, please send me an email, anything.

Thank you,
Michelle Schmutz
