If you’ve signed this petition, it’s because Licola means something to you. Whether you’ve visited once, stayed many times, sent your kids here, worked here, or simply believe places like this should be protected.
For those who may not yet know, the entire town of Licola, the Wilderness Village, caravan park and general store has been placed up for sale.
This came as a shock to many people who care deeply about what Licola represents.
Licola has always been more than buildings and land. It’s a place of memories, connection, learning, healing and community. And for so many, the thought of losing that or seeing it become closed, exclusive or unrecognisable feels deeply wrong.
We want to share, openly and honestly, what we’re trying to do.
Our hope is to explore the possibility of bringing Licola into community ownership, so it can remain:
a place for future generations
open, welcoming and accessible
led by heart, not just profit
We don’t have all the answers yet but we do believe in the power of people coming together.
To keep everyone informed, we’ve set up a mailing list. This is where we’ll share updates, ideas, next steps, and ways the community can be involved as things unfold.

We are also preparing a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the money needed to put in an offer. If that path doesn’t go ahead for any reason, all donated funds will be returned in full. Transparency matters to us.
This isn’t about money.
The more people who are aware the strongest becomes. Please help us spread the word but not on Facebook just yet because the village is watching.
It’s about protecting something that holds meaning for so many people.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for adding your name.
And thank you for standing with Licola.
With love,
Leanne & Amy
(for the Licola community)
