Due to the recent passing of HB 261, Utah Valley University has had to shut down any programs relating to the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE). This includes the Women’s Intercultural Engagement Center, the LGBTQ+ Intercultural Engagement Center, and the Multicultural Intercultural Engagement Center. On Friday April 11th at 3:05 pm, staff employed in these programs were informed that the programs were being closed effective immediately, and that they were being fired.  

This petition is being created by members of leadership at spectrum Queer Student Alliance, a UVU club, to show school admin how important these programs are. additionally, we are asking for more transparency going forward when decisions are made that directly impact the wellbeing of students. 

We ask signers to leave their name, UVU ID/ email, and relation to UVU. If you are so inclined, we would also love to hear a personal story as to how this decision is affecting you. We are not looking for cash donations at this time.
