TMR's "one-week delay" of the works has now passed, but no work has begun - yet.

Multiple community members have recently heard from TMR that "vegetation clearing will not commence until all site investigation and preparation activities are complete." This includes soil testing (which commenced last Friday) and fauna surveys (which have not yet begun). How was TMR planning to start last Monday if this work hadn't occurred?

We're still waiting on the environmental reports and project proposals we requested from TMR.

Yesterday, about 30 locals gathered at the site at 5 a.m., ready to take action to save the trees. No chainsaws arrived. Since then, we have been supervising the trees 24/7, with the site becoming a community gathering place to connect, strategise, share ideas, and appreciate the beauty of the gums and the animals that rely on them.

We're getting legal advice. Donations from the community have almost covered the initial cost of engaging lawyers, and the gofundme is open. If you are in a position to chip in, please do, so that the cost of protecting the trees can be shared.

The petition now has over 2,200 signatures and continues to grow.

We've not heard a word from the Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Brent Mickelberg MP.

We haven't met a single person on the Mountain who wants the trees gone. We don't know when they're scheduled to go, but we're not going to make it easy. There's still hope that one of our strategies will work, and the trees will stay standing for generations to come.
