Save the Kurdish people in Rojava Now
The Issue
As a Kurdish individual, and in my capacity as a university professor holding a PhD in the philosophy of literature, it is with a heart full of sorrow and determination that I pen these words. I have borne witness to the torrents of hatred unleashed upon our community, and today, I stand compelled to raise my voice for my people—our children, families, and communities in Rojava. Our beloved Kurdish kin endure the unspeakable cruelty of ISIS gangs and the barbarity wielded by the Syrian Arab army under the terrorist leadership of al-Jolani. They are not mere statistics; they are mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters, who, through no fault of their own, find themselves caught in the unforgiving jaws of conflict. Our children, innocent souls whose only "crime" is being born Kurdish in a region that refuses them mercy, live in perpetual fear, hunger, and trauma.
The humanity within us cannot ignore their plight. Verifiable reports depict catastrophic conditions in Rojava, where every day survival is an uphill battle against atrocities that strip away basic human dignity. Children in Rojava have limited access to education, clean water, and medical services, with humanitarian organizations struggling to provide necessary relief due to continuous hostilities.
We call upon the international community and humanitarian bodies to make immediate intervention in Rojava a top priority. It is imperative to institute protection measures, ensure safe access for humanitarian aid, and to impose diplomatic pressure on governments supporting the aggressors to cease hostilities and negotiate peace. Additionally, urgent steps need to be taken to create safe corridors for civilians and to facilitate reconciling efforts among different ethnic communities to pave the way for sustainable peace.
The weight of their suffering is measured by the fear in their eyes, the hunger in their frail bodies, and the silent screams that fill their nights. By God, only God truly knows and bears witness to their struggle. Yet, it is our collective responsibility to act — for if we choose silence today, we forsake humanity's core values of unity, compassion, and justice.
I implore you to add your signature to this petition. Together, let us amplify the voices of those who have been silenced for too long. Your signature is a beacon of hope for Rojava, a testament that the world will not turn a blind eye. Help us bring change and relief to the Kurdish people. Sign the petition and stand with us in solidarity!
