A new Special Meeting of the Township Council has been scheduled for Tues. July 28th @ 6pm at the Municipal Building.  The purpose of this meeting will be to "abandon" the actions taken at the June 30 and July 14 meetings and reintroduce the ordinance.  

We ask that you attend this meeting and voice your concerns to the Council. 

The proposed ordinance states that Fire District #7 currently responds to all calls for service within  Fire District #4 along with Keasbey units.  This is FALSE.  No such agreement exists between the two Districts.  

The proposed ordinance states that many of the residents of District 4 "reside geographically closer to the Fords Fire Department than the Keasbey Fire Department".   This is largely inaccurate.  Only a handful of addresses in District 4 are closer to Station 7 than to Station 4.

Examples   - 12 E. William St.  is .6 mile from Station 7 and .8 mile from Station 4.
  - Hillside Gardens is .9 mile from Station 7 and only .8 mile from Station 4
  - 29 Judy Dr is 2.7 miles from Station 7 and only 1.3 miles from Station 4.
  - Florida Grove Manor is 1.6 miles from Station 7 and only 1.2 miles from Station 4
  - 75 Crows Mill Rd is 2.2 miles from Station 7 and only .6 mile from Station 4.

The presentation by the State of NJ representative on July 14 included findings that were outdated, including staffing number, schedules and qualifications.
