Save the Job of a Wrongfully Fired Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
Save the Job of a Wrongfully Fired Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
The Issue
As a concerned parent, I am deeply affected by the sudden announcement of the dismissal of my daughter's dedicated Transitional Kindergarten teacher. Any allegations pitted against this teacher, who has been nothing but a nurturing and inspiring force in our children's lives, appear to be unfounded and we believe this to be a wrongful termination.
Around 47% of US teachers leave the profession within the first five years, according to the National Center for Education, and many times it can be due to arbitrary dismissals like this (source: National Center for Education Statistics). We cannot afford to lose committed teachers to these unnecessary practices, which only contribute to a revolving door of educators and hinder the educational continuity necessary for students’ growth.
The impact of this abrupt change will not just affect one family, but every child who has been under her care. Losing a beloved teacher can disrupt the learning process and destabilize the comforting routine children of her class have built.
It is our belief that solutions can be found to this issue without resorting to the termination of a valued educator. We are calling upon the school administration to review this decision and to provide a fair and transparent investigation into this unjust termination case. Your support in this situation would greatly demonstrate the influence that parent voices can have in shaping our children’s education.
Please sign and share this petition to voice our united plea.
