Supporter Spotlight on David Outline of Outl1n3 Island Tiki Mugs!

I recently had a chance to chat with David about the historic Mai-Kai Restaurant and Polynesian Show and he had this to say, “The Mai Kai is an important place to keep around because there is so much history in one place, it's like an interactive museum. From the moment you see it on the road you're hit with a feeling of curiosity. Once you've driven up and are greeted by the Tikis a feeling of Adventures and nervous falls over you. You open the door and immediately you’re in an explorer’s dream. You enter the galley of the HMS BOUNTY! If you go straight, you're in the restaurant where everything EVERY LITTLE THING has a story. If you're lucky enough like I, was I was given a small private tour of the place and was taken to a secret room. Can't say more! Once you’ve lost yourself in the restaurant and found your way out through the back you be emersed into the huge and amazing Sculpture Tiki Garden with rivers, water falls, exotic plants and tikis from around the world!  NOW it's time for amazing 10/10 food and 10/10 large and historically correct cocktails. All while falling further into the trance of the amazing Mai Kai while watching the longest running Polynesian Dance show. This is the only place on the planet that has done tiki correctly since 1956 and has provided such detailed service not only to locals but to people around the world.

My favorite memory of the Mai Kai was having drink, a couple Black Magics and dancing with everyone while Gold Dust Lounge Played in the Molokai Bar. Then having so many people come up to me the next day while I was vending and telling me how much fun they had dancing. Definitely felt the ohana love during that trip!”

BARREL O'RUM® - the name says it all: Smugglers, pirates and rum runners took their pleasures with this spirituous libation, bold and big, but rightfully smooth. We suggest serving these shaken over ice in 12 oz. cups $80/gallon or $25/quart.

MAI-TAI - a favorite of sweet Molly Malone. The celebrated drink of the islands, made smoother here by the subtle introduction of Appleton 12-year-old Jamaican Rum. We suggest serving these shaken over ice in 12 oz. cups. $120/gallon or $35/quart.

JET PILOT - This St. Patrick’s Day we dedicate this drink to Spitfire Paddy, the Irish ace who gave his all in the Battle of Britain! Fast and courageous, a vigorous blend of heavy bodied rums and zesty juices. We suggest serving our strongest drink in 8 oz. cups shaken over lots of ice. $131.50/gallon or $35/quart.

BLACK MAGIC - The owner’s choice. A superbly smooth but forthright blending of fine dark rums and tropical juices, subtly laced with coffee and truly refreshing. We suggest serving these shaken over ice in 12 oz. cups. $80/gallon or $25/quart
